Mana Boosting MethodsOk, so how do we mana boost? Well, you need to start buy unhiding your health and go buy anywhere from 5 to 200 super mana potions. More is not better. The more you have THE SLOWER YOU HAVE TO BOOST. This does not mean it takes more time. It means you have to drink less with a longer pause between drinks. I will leave it up to you how many you want to use; there are advantages to both.
What you want to do with the super mana potions is to give each potion modifiers. You can probably already guess what kind. You will need:
-Blocks
-Reflect
-Damage (could be all 4 kinds of damage or it could be just one)
-Armor (armor is needed to block a few things)
-Life (sometimes it is good to know someone can’t punch you out in one hit)
I’m assuming you already know how to give items modifiers, and potions are just items. So when we get all this done, we are ready to make our character mana boost. I will tell you what you need to do, and you can figure out how you want to do it. The concept is quite simple: you need to have negative mana!
Method 1:
You need to have 8 equipped items to be of refuge of refuge
You need to make your intelligence and dexterity both 10 level = 10; experience = 0;
You CAN NOT have any modifiers that will add to your mana
This is the way I mana boost. But there is another way:
Method 2:
Carry 2 super health potions that are both of refuge of refuge
Make you intelligence 100
Fast drink them to bring you mana into the negatives
You CAN NOT have any modifiers that will add to you mana
Either way works, so I will leave it up to you on which you decide to use. Of refuge is the key to the mana boost because it subtracts 12 from mana. Be ESPECIALLY careful to avoid ANY modifiers that might add to mana. These include:
Modifiers that add to skill level (ex. Adds 3 to ranged skill)
Modifiers that add directly to mana (ex. Adds 30 to mana)
Modifiers that add to you intelligence, strength, or dexterity (ex. Adds 2 to strength)
When you have done this all, you will know because you can have a negative mana score. When you have done this, and weeded out any potions that add to mana, you are ready to start boosting. There are 2 ways to do this and they depend on how many mana potions you have:
If you have lots of super mana potions: tap M and take sips of mana until you are reasonably boosted
If don’t have many super mana potions: reequip one item in your inventory and fast drink.
If all goes right, you will have reached god-like power. I will give you one important hint: it is all about the distribution of modifiers!
3) Fast Drinking: how do they do that?
You see those people jerking like they are having a seizure and all that mana or health energy around them? They are fast drinking. To fast drink, when in a game:
-hit escape, and go to options, input, hotkeys
-for mana set attack freely to a comma, and hold fire to a period
-if you are doing the mana boost above, all you need to do is reequip an item and start tapping M, period and comma, ALL 3 AT ONCE.
There are other methods to fast drinking, including health potions; however, I am not going to list them all here. I listed the one pertinent to this tutorial. The rest, you can learn of your friends and DS teachers. None of them are hard to learn.
4) Over-Boosting: Why not?
Over-boosting is when you drink way to many modifiers. The effects of this are two: 1) games can lag, and 2) you are, unfairly, nearly impossible to kill. It is considered unethical to overboost. So sure you could have 200 potions and tap M 20 times and be nearly impossible to kill, but what would be the point? We would have a bunch of unkillable people in very laggy games. This is not fun. And people usually know when you are doing it, so doing think you are fooling anyone. Basically, if you take more that 2 hours to kill, you are overboosted. Please, please please, rely on modifier distribution and breaking skill. Do if for yourself and for you fellow Dsers. Thank you.
