Zone Server Problems - Complain to MicrosoftThe problems with MS zone server will most likely get worse as the product life cycle of DS1 ends in April this year. That does not mean they are pulling the plug. Just seems they don't really care about an old game.I want with the help of our talented community to build a new one. Please everyone go here: https://support.microsoft.com/oas...us&c1=510&gprid=6978& and start a support request. This is for LOA so you will need your product ID from the about screen in the game. Email, chat or phone it does not matter just start a support case. DS1 support is at this link and you will need your product id form the about screen. https://support.microsoft.com/oas...us&c1=510&gprid=9533& We need as many complaints as possible about the zone server. LOA has a longer product life cycle than DS1 and will help keep the zone server open. They use the same server and we need time to build a new one. |

Zone is gone foreverI am sorry to tell u all this but a few of my members and myself have spoke to Microsoft and Zone is no more. Gas Powered Games apparently pulled the plug on it. it wont be going back up. Now I am praying this is all wrong but like i said we have spoke to Microsoft and they cant tell us anything about it cuz they say zone is not Microsoft it is gas powered games so we call gas power games and all we get is voice mail and leave a message to get no call back. we have posted in the gas powered games forums with no response and we have emailed gas power games with no response ..... it looks like Microsoft is right they pulled the plug on the server for zone!feel free to contact them maybe if enough of us do they will change minds? Hey Bella thanks. I have been real busy this last week. But when I spoke to Microsoft it goes like this.
LOA has a product life cycle untill 2009 and they said they would keep the zone untill then and then pull the plug. Now if they do not have control over it what can be done. Technically MS is responsible for it working until support period is over. Well I encourage all who read this to download my ds Chat program and meet there for games. I can program more features into it after the holidays but it really is a good place to meet. We will figure somthing out. Huib lets talk soon bud if you read this. |

yo i am going to gpg monday in person mabey i can talk to a live person i went to mirosoft last week but i got nothing i will try to get some info gamespy hosts ds2 mabey everone could email them to pick up ds1

Hey WTF good idea. GameSyp was supposed to have support for DS by the time it went offline. The problem is LOA was supposted to be up untill 2009. They just dont support it yet. Hell the them we dont mind buying the zonematch server. One of us could host it or at least if they point us in the right direction of making one. Thanks bud. |

Anyway Demo if you did have a hard time with ARA FF you really need to take it up with them. We have good relations with them and don't really need stuff being spread on our forums. Nothing personal its just not the place for it. |

ok, here is my 2 cents worth....that i posted on GPG forum..
As a loyal DS1/LOA fan, i am very disappointed at the crappy response from the tech support people in GPG or lack there of. At this day and age there is just no excuse for a game server going down with out a BACK UP... If this is how we (the gamers/the fans of DS) are treated, then no doubt we will be treated the same with other products of GPG. That being said, then why should we continue to buy/support any future GPG products? GPG is nothing with out us the gamers/customers. The success of your company rests with us (gamers/customers). Bottom line: NO CUSTOMERS-->NO GAMES-->NO COMPANY--> NO JOBS--> NO NOTHING..... IF THIS KEEPS UP, WE SHOULD ALL BOYCOTT ANY AND ALL FUTURE GPG PRODUCTS. By the way, since Huib mentioned that DS1 probably has more players then DS2, my question is.."who is/were the dumb SOBs that decided to release DS2 with no PVP ??" Uncle Monkey wants to know ? ohhh, mr. demo...why don't print this out and go ask them ...when u next visit there |

hmmmwell, i contacted all gamespy, GPS, and MS today. heres what gamespy saidGamespy: well ever been seeing alot of complaints, lots of people coming up to us saying "hey what happened to zonematch?" and all we do it tell them to goto microsoft but, some of them we helped and were working on about to get the zone back up. heres what GPS said GPS: now the thing is, weve recored about 1M complaints. your no. 1,000,001. weve been told by gamespy about this but the game of Dungeon Siege one and its only expansion, Legonds of Arrana, is obsolete. right now, were only thinking about what we shall do. i contacted MS and MS said MS: the things have changed over the years scence dungeon siege went obsolete. weve heard complaints, people crying at the doors of our HQ, or at least the closest they can get to it, and many others. gamespy is trying to get it back up and GPS is thinking. just give er' time. time will only tell about this one. thats all they had to say. i hope this info helped

Seems they still don't give it to us straight.
If it's obsolete to them then they shouldnt be telling us that it's "being fixed" or that they're trying to fix it. It would be great if the zone eventually came back in some form but Master's zone will be much more reliable for DS fans. |
