this movie is based on a true historical event when 300 spartan warriors held off the largest army ever assembled in history th persian king proclaimed himslef a god and leaonids goal of this suicidal mission was to prove that a god king can bleed. Over the period of the movie there is a lot of action it was a fantastic movie 5/5 on all accounts however i must say that there is a portion of the movie that i remember reading about that is different

hmmmmm ive got to say the very last part when they are in that closed up formation and the guy jumps out and kills the i guess he was a messenger then the king hits the persian king with the spear

or the first few days of battle

ah hell just the entire fight

the ending is cool as well the whole 10,000spartans leading 30,000 free greeks

ok i would first like to say i LOVED that movie.. it was AMAZING.. god in movie form

but....

the real events (sorry to say... but i researched it and i know it was fake and just a movie but if u want to know what really happened):

300 spartans - 4,000 alcadians - 32,000 other greeks assembled against 220,000 persians and killed off 72,000 (i think it was 220K, its either that or only 120K either way) and the last to stand were the last 300 spartans WHICH WOULD HAVE OWNED!! if the persains weren't pussies and used arrows >.< spartans - god!

i love the spartans just for this war (and what they believe in of course) well theres the true info but none the less godlike and amazing...

I remember studying the spartans a few years back, they where very strict which made the best soldiers.

The movie was good, lots of action! Very Happy
